Job Description
Title: Janitor
Department: Support Services (school)
Title of Immediate Supervisor: Support Services Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining a safe, hygienic, and sanitary environment at the H.G.L.
Campus School.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
1. Clean and sanitize locker rooms, restrooms, kitchens, and health office daily. Fill soap and paper dispensers
as needed.
2. Clean, vacuum, and dust offices, conference rooms, music room, weight room, lounge, library, and computer
room at least three times weekly.
3. Perform high and low dusting of offices, classrooms, corridors and entrances weekly.
4. Dust mop classrooms daily, wet mop as needed.
5. Dust mop the gym daily and wet mop weekly. Scrub and burnish the cafetorium monthly.
6. Clean entrance doors, pedimats, and windows daily. Clean other windows and window treatments as needed.
7. Scrub and burnish corridors daily or as needed.
8. Disinfect hand contact points weekly including phones, door handles, and switch covers. Sanitize and polish
drinking fountains daily.
9. Spot clean and shampoo carpets as needed.
10. Sanitize, scrub, and seal ceramic tile floors as needed.
11. Strip and wax all VCT floor tile as needed.
12. Refuse removal including biohazard waste taken to designated area.
13. Maintain all work areas and equipment to be safe and sanitary.
14. Inventory and request supplies as needed.
15. Replace burnedt out lighting tubes as needed.
16. Attend all mandatory in-service training and regularly attend supervision meetings. Attend other training and in- services as needed to maintain a level of expertise in the field.
17. Any additional duties assigned by immediate supervisor.

Minimum Education and/or Professional Qualifications/Skills
High School Diploma/GED
Knowledge of cleaning equipment
Knowledge of floor maintenance chemicals
